Is it talking about polar bears?

I've never heard the term "still-hunting", but maybe it's something that is specific for polar bears. The parenthetical remark explains what it means.

One definite correction: "... beside a seal's breathing hole ..." (Note the location of the apostrophe).

Apart from that, I think it's fine.
