Ok. I read that it might be better to translat the "funktion" of the person than a transcribed name, that might not been known. But I think in this case it's clear.
I would have to agree with you on that (avoiding proper modifiers). toki pona is generally easy, except when it comes to proper modifiers. There are so many that just plain require memorization and even good tokiponists might not realize that Sinan means Klingon, or just about any other tokiponized word unless they've seen it before.
