This makes no sense in English.
Google Translate translates the original Dutch as: "Where there is chopping, chips fall." Looks like we have some metaphorical translations already - can we change this more literal one to fit Google's attempt, which does actually sound like an English sentence?
Funnily, Germans seem to have believed for ages that this is the English version of the proverb.
