I found a similar (but still different) sentence on "Colloquial Icelandic". I'm not sure if the English is natural, however...

Hmmm ... ég þekki ekki þetta orðatiltæki. Það er hægt að „læra hlutverk“ og „læra undir próf“ sem og að „lesa hlutverk“ (e. read a part) en þetta þekki ég ekki.

Ég leitaði á netinu en fann bara hlekki á þessa setningu og svo bók á Baidu (sem ég býst við að þú hafir séð þetta í). Ég skal spyrjast fyrir um þetta. Ef þetta er svona leikhúsmál, þá væri frábært að hafa dæmi um þetta hér. :-)

Hmmm ... I don't know this phrase. One can "læra hlutverk" and "læra undir próf", as well as "lesa hlutverk" (meaning, read a part) but this I don't know.

I searched on the web, but only found links to this sentence here on Tatoeba and then a book on Baidu (which I assume you saw this in). I'll ask around for this. If it's some sort of theatre-speak, it would be great to have an example of it here. :-)
