Pensei em colocar "irei e perguntarei" para manter a estrútura sintática da frase original, mesmo não crendo que soe natural. O que recomendaria?

"Irei e perguntarei" parece-me tradução demasiadamente literal e, portanto, nada natural.

Eu diria: "Vou perguntar ao Tom."
