The eng&fra sentences are different than the jap&pol.

The English (now) matches the Japanese OK.

Jim are you positive the english is OK? 会う約束 is rendez-vous, I dont see how "promise" comes up here
She had a rendezvous with him at the coffee shop

会う約束 is a modified noun. 約束 by itself is a promise. I think the English might even be more natural than the Japanese.

I have a feeling that pierrephi is right. The English and the French sentences sound more like 会うと約束した to me. In the Japanese, they just made an appointment. Are these the same thing?

I have added another translation using "arranged" instead of promised. I see that of the 16 sentences with 会う約束 most use "appointment" and 3 or 4 use "promise".
