Mony a man will say scots isnae hits ain leid, just a wee by-leid speked by the barbarians hin the north. But tae thou who say scots isnae a leid ae its ain, ah bid ye tell me wit am sayin thenoo.

Ah leeve in Fife in the north-eastmaist ae Scotland. Be it kent that Scots es very much a regional leid an mony failk fae across Scotland will hae a different idea ae scots be it their spelling or their spekin. Scots hasnae had much o ae spelling standardisation an ne'er much o a dictionary binna a few wee projects online. Its very much a leid o the leid o the tongue.

As well as scots of course I can speak english and speak English most of the time. I would say I am more familiar with English than scots but I still consider scots to be a maither-leid, mother tongue.

I speak, of course British English.

Aussi je peux parle français un moyen peu. J'ai approximativement 4 ou 5 ans d'étude en français à l'école. Mais il a été quelques années puisque j'utilisais français dans une large mesure.
