Hi Alex,
Are you sure "ecclesia" would be the right word here? I know it's a collective name for "Church", i.e., the Christian Church. I thought there should also be another word for that particular house of prayer.

But I'm not sure, maybe "ecclesia" in Latin does serve for both terms.

Yes, Eldad, I am pretty sure.

ecclesia
1. A religious assembly of Christians, a Christian congregation, a church (eccl. Lat.; very freq.).
2. The Church, the whole body of believers.
[Harper's Latin Dictionary]

Of course you can use words like "aedes sacra" (literally a "sacred temple"), but why? "Ecclesia" is probably one of the most popular words in Latin...

So, in Latin it serves for the whole congregation as well as for the house of prayer itself.

BTW, one of the reasons I asked was that in Esperanto, if you use "eklezio" for the house of prayer, it's a mistake. For that you use "preĝejo" (i.e., a place where people pray). "Eklezio" only refers to the Christian Church.
