espléndidas

enteka, if you need to render this word, say, in English (without using the word "splendid"), what word will you choose? :)
(or in German or Arabic, for that matter)

Superb...

In German, I may would say: "prachtvoll" in this case:
Was für prachtvolle Häuser!
In Spanish, another synonym would be "magnífico", in English "magnificent". But probably it would be better to say just "beautiful".

¡Muchas gracias, SC! ¿Hay otras palabras con el mismo significado? Y también en alemán o en árabe.

Thank you, enteka. Yes, these are the words I was looking for. I'm still not certain how I would render that in Arabic. Maybe رائع ?

I would agree with رائع . That would be probably the word I would use but I am not sure if there is another word which describes it better. Honestly, I hardly use the word "espléndido", I actually wondered when I used it the last time. Yes, maybe for the weather.. "¡Qué día más espléndido!" (What a beautiful day/weather! - Was für ein herrlicher Tag/ herrliches Wetter!
When you are talking about food, in German you would say: das Essen war augezeichnet/vorzüglich. (La comida era espléndida.)- The food was lovely.?
¡Qué espléndida idea! - Was für eine großartige Idee! (What an excellent/great idea!)
Espléndido también es un sinónimo de "generoso" (generous, großzügig).

Thank you very much!
Yes, I agree with all your examples, and with all the German synonyms for the various situations. Actually, I raised the question because I also wouldn't use the word "splendid". I guess it has a British flavor in it :)

I'll try to upload to Tatoeba some German variants using your examples. So, I'm thanking you in advance, as you gave me much inspiration :)
