Is this Afrikaans sentence 100% correct?

It is, as you can see here:

Thank you Alexander!!! It's the first time I see this between Afrikaans and English ^v^ Moreover, the webpage provides very practical information about Afrikaans ;-)

Dank je wel ;-)

Pensaba que el Afrikans se parecia más al holandes que al ingles.

Wallebot: si', por supuesto, el afrikans y el holandés pueden ser considerados como los dialectos del mismo idioma, como el francés de Francia y lo de Quebec ^v^ Esta frase es una coincidencia excepcional de parecido entre el afrikans y el inglés ^v^

It turns out that this sentence is in Afrikaans, although its spelling is similar to the English one. Read the Wikipedia article:

I have tried to find this Afrikaans sentence in a more trustworthy source (an online book, for example), but I couldn't. Perhaps we should ask an Afrikaans native speaker.

I understand your concern, CK. I don't speak Afrikaans, though I speak Dutch. In fact a friend who is fluent in Afrikaans told me this coincidental sentences and this was why I added them. :)

Oh, and by the way, Vortarulo mentions Dutch among his languages, and Dutch is very similar to Afrikaans. The difference between them is more or less like the difference between the French spoken in France and the one spoken in Quebec. Words like "hand" and "warm" and "is" are exactly the same in English, Dutch and Afrikaans. As for "my", it's exactly the same in Afrikaans and in English (although I think that they differ in pronunciation), while it's "mijn" in Dutch. So, in my humble opinion, it can be perfeclty considered as an Afrikaans sentence. If Vortarulo accidentally posted it as an Afrikaans sentence, then it's a lucky accident.

@Amastan:
Why would you try to find a sentence in a book?
When you look up the single words in a dictionary (my, hand, is, in, warm, water) you will find them. You can also check a grammar of Afrikaans (I have both at home). The Dutch sentence has "mijn" instead of "my". According to my Afrikaans grammar, "my" is indeed the possessive adjective (my), while "myne" is the possessive noun (English: mine).
But it's of course okay to ask a native speaker...

@ Vortarulo:

Sorry. I have posted my last message before I noticed your answer ^v^ No need to ask a native speaker ;-)

Please do not remove comments! This always creates a mess where the continuity of other comments is very confusing. Other people might have the same thought as you have and will find that no one ever mentioned that issue when they quickly browse through the already given comments. :/

I think, comments should only be removed if they contained an insult, but not simply a request or false assumption that is later cleared up. Otherwise there are holes in the comment thread and everything becomes messy.

The sentence written in Afrikaans is 100% correct.

You should make a option whether or not people want to remove a comment because you know how newbies work on the internet, just wanna touch every button 😝😝👍
