<ga'inai> expresses the humility of the speaker. For hauteur, use <ga'i>, and for peerness, use <ga'icu'i>. Tack on <sai> or <cai> for strong or intense feeling. This hierarchy achieves what in Japanese would be a complex usage of varying verbal endings and noun prefixes, etc. In Lojban, unlike in Japanese, the politesse hierarchy is completely optional. Also in Lojban is <.io> the respect attitudinal, whose opposite is <.ionai> for disrespect.
