A small clarification:
- the USSR collapsed in 1991, not in 1993;
- there was no communism in the USSR, there was socialism.
Tag this as a lie! xD
I have no right to add tags :)
It's up to you.
By the way, if I write something like "The USA was founded in 1900, and there was communism for many years" in my native language, will you consider it as a good sentence?
Well, an "untruth" if it matters. I think it should be tagged like that to avoid confusion.

@CK,
I understand, but anyway it's better if we put the tag than nothing. Also, in addition to grammar, Tatoeba is a quite informative and interesting so at least here we can mark some obvious errors and myths.
I think, we all should care not only about that sentences on Tatoeba were grammatically correct, but they were meaningful and true. So, if we see any ignorance of fact here, it would be better to correct it as soon as possible.
But if it's impossible for some reasons, adding tag may be a partial solution. So, I suggest to add this tag to the rest translation of this sentence.

I agree with the last commentator there.
