Actually, "but" can serve as an intensive. Merriam-Webster gives the example "get there but fast". You can see it if you go to this page:
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/but
and scroll down to where the adverbial meanings of the word are listed. It's meaning number 4.
That's interesting that "but" can be used in that way. I looked in the OED and saw definitions like what is given by Merriam-Webster but nothing quite the same.
Nevertheless, I still think "but" does not work here and it does not sound natural (to my eyes).
Furthermore, I do not believe it works as a translation for the German sentence "Tu es, aber jetzt gleich!". In that sentence, "aber" is more like a focus particle, giving intensity to "jetzt gleich", which "but" by itself cannot offer. I'd translate it simply as:
"Do it now!" or "Do it at once!" with the exclamation marks indicating the intensity given by "aber".
I think that "Do it, but now!" is fine (I would insert a comma), but the number of people who would use it is small, and it's not a great sentence for language learners. I have no problem changing it.
Except for the exclamation mark, this version still matches the Japanese.
Perhaps the English should be changed, or the Japanese unlinked.
