I don't think the German sentence matches these others.
"Danke, gleichfalls" is more like "Thanks, same to you" - not "Thanks anyway"!
For example, if I wished someone good luck and they wanted to wish me good luck too, they could say "Danke, gleichfalls."
This is much different from "Thanks anyway", which I would say for example if someone tried to do something nice for me but it didn't work out. Like if somebody had gotten me a book as a present, but I already had that book, I might say "Thanks anyway."
I am not a native German speaker, but my German is not bad either and I feel pretty sure about this.
