I think "in" is ungrammatical or at least unidiomatic. Better: "I spent the whole day reading the novel."
I was thinking the same thing as Hans_Adler when I saw this sentence. Is 'in' correct usage?
The audio (correctly) says "I spent the whole day reading the novel."
Suggest editing out the 'in' in this sentence.
