Mistaken as I can be here, I wouldn't say 'I can no more swim than a stone can' is acceptable use of the language. No more is mostly used to denote that the action is no longer happening and is not generally a good choice for comparison.
This is something to discuss, really. If more people joined the conversation, I think we might figure out the best translation here.

"no more" does not necessarily mean that the action is no longer happening. Here's a quote from Barack Obama:
"I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community." The original sentence is very good literary English, and "I can no more" gets 56 million hits on Google.
