cursos vs clases
lo habría dicho "Las clases empiezan a las 8". ¿Alguien me puede explicar la diferencia entre los dos?

Las clases empiezan a las ocho es más común, indica que todos los días a las 8 entras a clase; los cursos empiezan a las ocho quiere decir (por lo menos aquí) que el curso escolar empieza hoy a las ocho.
