That link is to the lyrics of a song. Songs often leave out words that can't be omitted from sentences. I agree that this one should be changed to "I wish I had..."

No, I consider them as belonging to a mode of language that often doesn't serve Tatoeba's purposes well. There are quite a few modes of language in that category (newspaper headlines, chatroom talk, writing that uses annotations). That doesn't mean they are unworthy in themselves, nor that they are used by illiterate people or in a way characteristic of illiteracy, only that they don't meet the guidelines to be part of the Tatoeba corpus.

Where can I read more about purposes of Tatoeba in this regard and especially applied to English if possible?
