BTW, İlker, this Azerbaijani sentence reminds me of a little question regarding Turkish:
Hava soğuk.
Can it be said also by:
Hava soğukdur.
Is it not customary to add dir/dur to such expressions?
Firstly, it must be ''soğuktur''
It is but this is the easiest way to express it.
And also hava soğuktur may mean a probability.
For example: Hava soğuktur, belki de değildir.
But ''Hava soğuk.'' is a certain expression. There is no other way.
Yes, of course, "soğuktur" (sorry for the typo).
Thanks for your explanation.
What do you mean by "probability"?
"The weather is cold, maybe not."
Or should I translate it otherwise?
"The weather is cold, maybe not."
Yes, this is exactly what I mean.
I think I'm too tired to think and can't express myself fully.
Maybe, 'the possibility not to be cold'?
Thanks, iyi geceler!
