Persönlich verwende ich diese Anrede nie. Ich würde eher sagen: Wo warst du bis jetzt, mein Sohn? Oder salopper und vermutlich eher: Wo hast du (bloß) gesteckt, mein Sohn?

Aber bei "mein Sohn" steckt immer ein Hauch freundschaftlicher Ironie drin. Die Anrede ist nicht ganz neutral.

Ich zweifle, ob "Sohn" oder "mein Sohn" eine sehr gebräuchliche Anrede ist. Eher verwendet man vielleicht den Vornamen irgendwo.

Das ist meine private Ansicht.
