Is it legal to merge the "ot" from לראות and אותך in this way?

Eldad Eldad April 12, 2015, edited April 12, 2015 April 12, 2015 at 9:01:14 PM UTC, edited April 12, 2015 at 9:03:34 PM UTC link Permalink

I'm not sure I understood your question.

לראות + אותך
is merged into one word: לראותך
This is said in a somewhat literary register.

However, the usual way, somewhat colloquially, is to say it in two words: לראות אותך

... which existed already (I posted this variant),
so I added the other variant as well.

Oh, I read it once again, and now I believe I understood what you asked.
In Hebrew, you can add the various particles for each of the pronouns - to the infinitive of the verb:
נו - for us
so: לראותנו
ם (i.e. - am)
so: לראותם = לראות + הם

etc.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks.
