Does Esperanto lack the concept of dozens?
I think "dozens" may be a little bit more idiomatic than "tens" here so that it works as a translation from Esperanto. In the other direction, you could easily say "dekduojn" (units of 12). Esperanto does not discriminate, but that would also imply "dekojn". Both words are obviously based on the decade system, so "dekojn" might be considered more natural. Of course, what it really means is "a lot". 🙂
I got here because I found the Spanish translation from English, using "decenas" (tens), which is so similar to "docenas" (dozens) that I thought it was a mistake. And then I found that that was a correct translation from Esperanto.
I really would have preferred "lots" to "tens", if people are so determined not to use the word "dozens".
