Hmmm... I didn't think the GOC asked for a long accent on that A...? Certainly the old upward accent worked, but the downward accent looks really odd there...

The accent is needed not for length, but to show it's an open _a_ rather than a closed _a_ as in e.g. "Tha mi a' dol a Ghlaschu."
