This is OK. But what do you think about:

"jan ale o suli tawa jan. taso jan ala o sewi tawa jan."

=>
jan mute li pana e olin mute e sewi mute tawa mi tan ala.
-> jan mute li olin e mi li sewi e mi tan ala.

I understand that the uncalled-for admiration and esteem belongs to the to-be-avoided being "idolized", so I thought that the "olin" (which seems to refer to the "respected" part) shouldn't be used here.

-> jan mute li sewi e mi tan ala.

`suli` for "respect" feels eh to me, at least in the sense of equal-to-equal respect as opposed to student-to-teacher respect

`olin` is a good catch, i guess i read "admiration" as "adoration"

This sentence was initially added as a translation of sentence #5786127My political ideal is democracy. Everyone should be respected as an individual, but no one idolized. It is an irony of fate that I should have been showered with so much uncalled for and unmerited admiration and esteem. Perhaps this adulation springs from the unfulfilled wish of the multitude to comprehend the few ideas which I, with my weak powers, have advanced..
