I'm ultimately from a Yiddish-and-Hungarian-speaking extended family, and my cousin who still speaks the language says I speak it well. But to be honest, what does it even mean to speak Yiddish well these days? I certainly don't speak the Yiddish of today's native speakers in New York City or Eretz Yisrael. I know an academic Yiddish, and even that isn't as good as I'd like it to be.
