Translate Guybrush88's sentences
*Localization bug*
I noticed that when I want to edit a sentence I just added (it can be both a translation of an existing sentence and a brand new sentence without any translation), the string of the button you have to click to cancel the operation remains untranslated, so you see the English "Cancel" even if the interface isn't in English. The same string appears localized when I want to add a translation for the first time.
Congratulations!
Personally I think it would be better if a message telling "level not selected" (or something similar) would be displayed if you decide to save a language without selecting any level, instead of displaying automatically 0
Thanks for your explanation, Trang
Would it be possible to extend the edit in place feature also for brand new sentences and not only for translations? I would find it quite useful when I add a sentence (and not a translation) and i have to correct a typo or any other possible mistake
* Feature request *
Personally I would find quite interesting if users could be able to get random sentences not translated in a given language. Something similar to the current "show random sentences" feature, but also selecting a language the sentences aren't translated into. For example: getting five random sentences in English/French not yet translated in Italian
I was wondering: should search results be limited to just 1000 results per query? For example: http://tatoeba.org/ita/sentence...rom=eng&to=und
where you have just 1000 results out of 93209 occurrencies. I can imagine that this was implemented for the old server, which was very unstable, but I was wondering if the new server would be capable to cope with all the 93209 occurrencies at the same time within a single query. Probably I would also find it less confusing for new users. If I were one, probably I would think like "Why can't I just see all the occurrences of a given word/expression? There are so many and I can see just see 1000. Why is this happening?"
So, my question is; could it be possible to make all the occurrencies appear while searching for words/expressions?
I tried to search exact occurences of "work" with translations in Italian, and I also got sentences with no Italian translations at all, not even indirect ones. The query I used: http://tatoeba.org/ita/sentence...rom=eng&to=ita
I'm wondering if that player is suitable also for Tatoeba itself. Personally I'd find it better to listen to audio files directly from Tatoeba if I'm browsing it. This would be, in my opinion, better also for all the users who don't speak/learn English, since that link works only for English, and anyone not speaking it can't listen to any of the audio files in any other language.
pretty interesting, thanks :)
with Firefox 35.0.1 on Ubuntu 14.10, some letters in the editing field are truncated (like p and q): http://i62.tinypic.com/2i9lgdj.png
sono semplicemente frasi in francese diverse che hanno la stessa traduzione in italiano, ci penserà lo script a unirle
Il y a aussi des doublons causés par l'espace avant la punctuation, surtout en français. Par exemple:
http://tatoeba.org/ita/sentences/show/444788
http://tatoeba.org/ita/sentences/show/1869503
thanks, Trang ☺
nope, i'm not using the advanced language selector
It appears that the interface localization menu (the dropdown menu listing the languages in which the interface is translated into) is badly rendered on Firefox 35.0 on Ubuntu 14.10: http://i57.tinypic.com/2przqzo.png
Every language name is displayed as in the screenshot, and in any page of the website
Great news ☺ Let's hope this new script will be used way more regularly than the old one ☺
with Firefox 35.0 on Ubuntu 14.10 I can see them and i can click on them to jump to the related sentence: http://i61.tinypic.com/2e3mjjd.png
