Dear friends in Turkey,
stay strong on this sad day.
With pain in my heart.

In your opinion, is there a difference between "said by male" and "male speaker"?

al_ex_an_der al_ex_an_der April 12, 2016 April 12, 2016 at 10:30:35 AM UTC link Permalink

Strange enough we have both "male speaker"/"female speaker" and "said by male"/" said by female". They should be fused. I think the best solution would be to have
"said to male"/"said to female" and "said by male"/"said by female".

Üdvözlünk a Tatoebán! A Tatoeba lehetőséget ad a számodra, hogy kipróbáld magad a fordítás művészetében. A japán szó "Tatoeba" jelentése "például".

I think these categories "OK", "Unsure", "Not OK"
should allways have the same basic meaning.
As far as I understand, their meanings are approximately as follows.

OK
According to the standards commonly respected in the concerning language.

Unsure
Something seems (to me) not quite right.
Somebody (more competent than me) should check whether this sentence is OK or not.

Not OK
Not according to the standards commonly respected in the concerning language.
In a comment beneath, I specified why and/or proposed necessary changes.

You may have better definitions, and every definition permits some interpretation (what is OK for one person, may be hardly acceptable for another one). But at any rate, I'm in favor of finding and sticking to common definitions. Otherwise the whole classification would become pointless, wouldn't it?

What they are all about and why they are being posted?
That's a really good question. Solvu la enigmon, Viktor.

2 + 2 = 0 ? I'm not quite sure.
Two plus two is many, I guess. And many may be not exactly zero. ;-)
But beside of that, you are right; the crowd isn't allways right.
Unfortunately, by far not always. :(

Du hast recht, master. Es ist viel besser, wenn die Seiten-Nummerierung bei den ältesten Sätzen beginnt. Aber trotzdem sollten die neuesten Sätze zuerst angezeigt werden (so wie es jetzt schon geschieht).
