The Wall is fine for such questions, although it would be better to write the question as a comment instead.
Feliz aniversário, Lisa! :-)

Tatoeba seems to be very slow.
> a white parthenon over a blue field.
I like this better. The other idea would be rather difficult to implement, considering the icon dimensions.
Dear community,
Ricardo and I have been discussing the development of new flags for both Latin and Ancient Greek. The current Latin flag is just not as good as the others on Tatoeba, and the current Ancient Greek flag has little or nothing to do with Ancient Greece at all.
We'd like to know which flag you like best.
Below is a brief description of each candidate, followed by a preview.
Latin
(1) Current flag.
(2) Contains the SPQR (Senatus Populusque Romanus) inscription, the official name of the Roman Empire.
(3) Contains a laurel wreath, a symbol of victory for the ancient Romans.
(4) Contains the Colosseum, a symbol of Ancient Rome.
Check the Latin flags here: https://ibb.co/hzdaJz
Greek
(1) Current flag.
(2) Contains the front view of the Parthenon, as it once looked.
(3) Contains the front view of the Parthenon, as it looks today.
Check the Greek flags here: https://ibb.co/bxWvJz
The colors are not final.
You can also propose new suggestions if you like.
Thanks!

Fonts look different. Arial?
The search engine is much faster now. Thanks. I hope it stays like this.

Besides, on Firefox, the search engine makes the browser unresponsive during a few seconds.
Yes, a gray sentence is a related translation created when a translation is translated. You can see the explanation in our FAQ. The basic thing you have to understand is that there's no such a thing as an "original sentence". When new translations are written, they become original with respect to the translations that will be created for it and so on. This is why you only have to pay attention to the sentence you're translating from: the one in big, black letters. Sometimes related translations happen to match: this is why we have linking tools, which are accessible to advanced contributors and above. You can become an advanecd contributor when you get used to how the project works.

You can use Audacity, which seems to work on Mac: http://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/
If you want, you can simply record a list of sentences (which CK can prepare for you) in a single file with short pauses between sentences (half a second will do) and send it to me, so I can split the sentences for you and have them uploaded. If you do this with Audacity and save the file as an Audacity project file, I can easily do this.
Please write me a PM if you're interested.
Dear Elena,
I hope you understand English.
According to our terms, Tatoeba doesn't allow annotations on sentences. Authorship is indicated with comments or tags.

It seems like the problem started here: https://tatoeba.org/eng/sentenc...comment-866960
As you can see, the sentence is no longer available in our database. It's been deleted, although it still can be found through an external search engine, like Google. If you don't want this to happen, we'll have to try to erase the logs of that sentence, like it never existed.
If you decide to keep your aphorism in our website, you'll have to accept that its authorship be indicated with comments or tags. If you decide not to keep it, we can delete it for you.
We'll be here in case you need anything. My sincere apologies.
I agree about the colors.
I am color blind myself, and green turns out to be the most troublesome color to me. As a red-green color blind, green things seem totally invisible in red backgrounds, and partially invisible in gray or other backgrounds.
There are plugins that color blind people can use to overcome this issue, but most people don't know they exist, or they don't even know they're colorblind. In fact, about 10% of the male population is known to suffer from some kind of color blindness. It's quite a number, I think.

The white background for the other pages bothers me somehow.
Good job, bill.
Looks great indeed! Thank you!

To automatically remove the -1 from a sentence once it's adopted would be a good thing, too.
