I guess tomorrow I'll be able to, since Tatoeba generates the CSV download file every saturday: http://tatoeba.org/download_tat...mple_sentences

I can confirm that around the site it is Trebuchet MS. I used firebug to check it pretty quickly.

Fixed!

I guess there are problems with other languages too. There are the right to left ones...

Hi people!

I fixed some bugs on the typing game. Basically, it is faster now and the sentences were updated. And the server will be running 24/7, I hope.

Great!

And, at least in Firefox on Ubuntu, the spell checker is activated only on the textareas.

I'll take a LIBRAS course this semester, hopefully.

LIBRAS means Brazilian Signal Language and there are lots of material on the Internet. For example, a dictionary [1]. I guess it has some kind of "glosses" too.

If Tatoeba adds support for sign languages, I think we could discover contributors more passionate than the Esperanto ones.

I was looking for LIBRAS (Brazilian Sign Language) materials on the internet and found this:

They're trying to do a Portuguese-LIBRAS translator. Explanations are here, in Portuguese:

I guess the English interface should say 'French "passé simple"'. If it is impossible or misleading to translate, don't translate.

Olá, eu comecei a traduzir o guia do colaborador para português. Porém, estou sem tempo e estou traduzindo bem aos poucos. Quem quiser ajudar, é só me avisar que eu dou permissão de edição. Segue o link:

Olá, Regina. Tenho novas informações:

Eu me confundi com esloveno x eslováquio. O link para as frases eslovenas é
http://tatoeba.org/eng/tags/sho..._tag/Slovenian

e para as eslovacas é:
http://tatoeba.org/pt_BR/senten...ne/indifferent

Há poucas frases, então não vai ser muito útil. Mas na Wikipedia, em inglês, há algo melhor:

Pronomes eslovenos: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slovenian_pronouns
Pronomes eslovacos: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sl...nsion#Pronouns

brauliobezerra brauliobezerra December 3, 2010 December 3, 2010 at 11:29:18 AM UTC link Permalink

I've corrected the translation at Launchpad. I also made the mistake of writing "eslovênio" instead of "esloveno". The Ubuntu spellchecker said I was wrong, but I didn't see it at the time :P. I'll explain everything to Regina in Portuguese.

brauliobezerra brauliobezerra December 2, 2010 December 2, 2010 at 12:51:11 PM UTC link Permalink

Infelizmente, há somente 32 frases em eslovênio: http://tatoeba.org/pt_BR/senten...ne/indifferent

Olá!
De onde você é? Se for do Brasil, aproveite o feriado para adicionar algumas frases :P

Question: should I delete my comments requesting corrections after the sentence is corrected?

brauliobezerra brauliobezerra September 27, 2010 September 27, 2010 at 11:54:40 AM UTC link Permalink

I will do the Portuguese translation.

brauliobezerra brauliobezerra September 17, 2010 September 17, 2010 at 1:11:59 PM UTC link Permalink

Ah, and on MySQL it can be done this way too:

mysqlimport --local -c id,lang,text -u user -p sentences sentences.csv

brauliobezerra brauliobezerra September 17, 2010 September 17, 2010 at 1:09:38 PM UTC link Permalink

On PostgreSQL it can be done this way, after creating the tables:

COPY sentences (id, lang, sentence)
FROM 'sentences.csv'
WITH DELIMITER AS E'\t';

Similarly to the links.

Please note that those are not CSV files, since they are tab-separated. Could Sysko or Trang change the extension of the files?

Hi people, I am not back yet (too busy trying to get a degree), but I've installed the old version of the typing game at:

http://braulio.home.dyndns.org:1002/

I guess its best utility is in spotting errors on the sentences :P

The new version concept is more or less working by now, but I still have lots of things to implement. However, it's main feature -- competing against others -- is working well if you don't take into account it has only two texts, bad security, bad internet connection and bad anti-cheating. This new version can be seen at

http://braulio.home.dyndns.org/typing_jsf/

But don't expect too much from it... (and don't use your personal passwords). And it is in Portuguese for now.
