Anybody,

Is there anything that resembles an API to Tatoeba? I would like to query tatoeba directly from my web site, something like

import requests

word = "eloquent"
from_lang = "eng"
to_lang = "nld"

requests.get(f"https://tatoeba.org/en/sentence...to={to_lang}")

However, the status_code is 200 but no sentences are delivered. All I want to do is an anonymous query.

I keep get logged out spontaneously.
It is so annoying.
The interface language changes spontaneously from EO to Portuguese.
Annoying.
Help!

I can help. Don't know much about web stuff, but I'm a good programmer and eager to learn.

Most of the extensions available for Chrome or Chromium are available for Firefox. 'Google input method' included. The advantage of a browser extension is that,
1. you can right click a word and it will pop up
2. you can tear the floating keyboard (for example, Arabic) and use it on any input field
3. you can define short keys to input letters directly
4. writing direction automatically adjusted
5. combine a dictionary lookup, etc.

Try also http://gate2home.com/.

Dictionary lookups are very valuable, as you hover the cursor on a word or a phrase and it instantly gives you a selection of alternative translations.

You can try any of the virtual keyboards available on Chrome as extensions. The advantage is that you don't need another open page.
