* INCOMPREHENSIBLE TERMS *

The Terms of Use, in the section "Importing text", state:
"Where such credit is commonly given through sentence comments, it is sufficient to give attribution in the edit summary, which is recorded in the sentence history when importing the text"

It looks like this sentence refers to re-using sentences in wikis [which have edit summaries], not about importing them to Tatoeba.

Russian translation also seems to be written under premise that this sentence is about *exporting* text and not *importing*. "Where" seems to imply we're not talking about Tatoeba, and Tatoeba doesn't have an edit summary that is saved into sentence history.

Something perhaps needs to be done with this? What does the French original say?

Hi Impersonator,

As far as I understand, the orginal French just says “it is sufficient to give attribution in the edit summary, which is recorded in the sentence history when importing the text.” It doesn’t say “Where such credit is commonly given through sentence comments.”
