** Tatoeba Day #4 **
Tatoeba Day starts now! And will end, as usual in 24 hours.
For those who don't know what Tatoeba Day is, you can find the necessary information here: http://en.wiki.tatoeba.org/arti...ow/tatoeba-day
The rules are the same as last time:
1. Each participant is limited to 2 requests.
2. The request must be an issue that is already logged in our issues tracker in GitHub (https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues).
You are still free to submit new requests, i.e. requests that haven't been logged in the issues tracker. We will create an issue for it but it won't be taken care of during this Tatoeba Day, except if we have extra time, and it is an issue that is easy enough to solve.
You can find the list of issues that we're planning to work on over here:
https://github.com/Tatoeba/tato...nes/2015-07-27
If your request gets accepted, it will be added to the list.
You will know when a request is done and testable on the dev website when it is "closed".
As usual, if you have any question, don't hesitate to ask.
Happy Tatoeba Day!
I nominate this issue:
https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/729
After linking a translation, the "Show X more translations" link doesn't work.
This one would help us a lot!!!
I will need about why exactly it will be more helpful to be able to add several tags at once.
Is it because the page takes too long to load when you add a tag? Or is it for another reason?
Sometimes, we would add much more times and so, make Tatoeba "easier" for both students and us. In my case, there are times tha I just would like to organize/translate sentences in the Simple Past Sentence from English or French, sentences about countries, etc.
https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/334
This would be pretty helpful when adding multiple sentences. I would find this feature useful especially when adding multiple translations of the same sentence when browsing Tatoeba on a smartphone, since it would make it a lot easier to copy the whole sentence in order to change just a small part of it
I'm scheduling this one for another Tatoeba Day. It won't be possible to implement it properly for today.
thanks for your answer, trang
even if it doesn't have a ticket yet, there's this new possible language request: https://tatoeba.org/ita/sentences_lists/show/4482
Iso code: roa
the image for the flag: http://i.imgur.com/KUyihlX.png
I'd actively contribute to this language if it gets added
I added a ticket for this.
thanks
Last request: An easier way to talk to indetified natives. (if possible, a link on the top bar)
http://i.imgur.com/16tguX8.png
This request is not specific enough to be implemented.
Tatoeba Day is soon over so it won't be implemented, but for next time, you will have to explain more precisely what you want.
For instance: why is it difficult at the moment to talk to identified native speakers? What exactly do you need, to make it easier? I know that you want a link, but then, what is displayed when you click on the link?
I nominate this issue:
After entering a sentence by a non-native speaker
the tag "@needs native check"
should be added automatically.
Thank you! / Dankon! / Danke! / ¡Gracias! / Merci! / Obrigado! / Grazzie!
I won't add this in our GitHub issues because I actually have some other plan.
It will be a bit too long to explain everything right now, but it is related to what I said about the OK tag here: https://tatoeba.org/eng/wall/sh...#message_23408
Basically, my goal is to stop using tags to mark sentences as "correct" or "incorrect" or "needs to be checked", but to have a dedicated system for it.
Tatoeba Day is now over.
There isn't a lot to test, but if you have time, please test on the dev website the following issues:
https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/729
https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/728
There will be a Tatoeba update on Monday.
Next Tatoeba Day is scheduled for August 8.
