** Tatoeba Day #15 **

Tatoeba Day starts now and as usual will end in 24 hours!

If you don't know what Tatoeba Day is about, you can find information about it here:
http://en.wiki.tatoeba.org/arti...ow/tatoeba-day

The main theme of this Tatoeba Day is Google Summer of Code.

Google Summer of Code is a program organized by Google which offers students the opportunity to participate to an open source project throughout the summer. It also offers the opportunity for open source projects to attract new developers. If you are curious about this program, you can learn more about it on their FAQ:
https://developers.google.com/o...summer_of_code

The reason why I'm talking about this is that we will try to apply as a mentoring organization to GSoC.

A lot of organizations apply to this program and there is no guarantee that we will be accepted. It's difficult to say what are our chances. We are not a big organization therefore the chances are definitely lower. We were rejected in 2013, but were accepted in 2014, and were rejected in 2015.

Maybe we will be luckier this year and will be accepted. But in the event that our application is rejected again this year, we are considering organizing our own coding event.

Tatoeba really lacks developers, and it's a good time for us to spend more efforts on attracting more developers so that all these features that you dream about can be finally implemented.

Here's what you can do to help us for this Tatoeba Day.

1) If you are interested to participate to GSoC or to a possible Tatoeba coding event, please fill this form: http://goo.gl/forms/qmTlv83fcQ
You don't necessarily need to be developer. You can also help with simply organizing stuff.
I will contact you back to discuss further with you and answer any question you may have.

2) For GSoC we need to prepare an "Ideas list". This is our current page:
http://en.wiki.tatoeba.org/arti...soc_2016_ideas
It's basically a copy of the page from the previous year so we need to update it.
But if there's any idea that you'd like to add to this list, please let us know!
Also if you have any comment about the current ideas listed, let us know as well.

3) Simply talk to people around you who have knowledge in Web development or are interested in learning it. Let them know that there's this nice open source project that you really like, that's called Tatoeba, and that really needs more developers, and maybe they can join and help out coding stuff.

Happy Tatoeba Day!

I think you guys should find a good UX Designer—not a person who knows how to use Adobe Photoshop.

For the budget that we have, they're pretty much impossible to find :P

Tatoeba Day is now over!

Today, against all odds, we may have found someone to tackle UX Design in Tatoeba.

Anyway, thank you all for your participation.

The next Tatoeba Day is scheduled for January 31.
