Tatar is usually written in Cyrillic, though it has been written with Latin and Arabic scripts. I wonder if, like Uzbek, it could have the alternate scripts generated automatically. The Cyrillic and Latin can be transcribed character by character, so it shouldn't be TOO difficult to implement (though the Arabic is another matter).
We now have Cyrillic-Latin pairs (like #1285837 - #4925667) as well as Latin-Arabic pairs (like #4813918 - #4813914)
In fact, I don’t think that Cyrillic and Latin can be transcribed character by character. Think of such pairs as елан ~ yılan (not ‘yelan’), яшь ~ yäş (not ‘yaş’). Besides, there would be a problem with k ~ q, g ~ ğ which are not distinguished in Cyrillic.
Also, v and w are not distinguished in Cyrillic.
Yes. We basically need more of these pairs. See the complete guide about requesting new transcriptions: http://en.wiki.tatoeba.org/arti...iption-request
