I created sentence #7842475 two days ago along with two other ones containing the word "hidroavión" ( #7842473 and #7842474 ) but when I do a search (either literal or general, either in Spanish or in any language) of the term (example: https://tatoeba.org/eng/sentenc...rom=und&to=und ) only two old sentences created by another user show up. This happened with many other sentences I created yesterday and earlier.

Does anyone know the reason for this?

[EDIT]

I replaced the link to my list of sentences (too dynamic) with direct links to the sentences mentioned above.

A few more sentences with the same issue: #7843726 , #7847259 , #7847261 , #7847262 , #7847265 , #7847268 , #7847269 and #7847270 There are many more, though.

:(

Thanks, CK! :)

I noticed it way earlier but I thought the system would be overcharged or something and it would take some time but then I checked the first sentences I added yesterday and they were alright so I thought something must not have been properly working.

This sentence cannot be found, too:
https://tatoeba.org/rus/sentences/show/7845761
Фред - лодырь.

It doesn't even appear in the search results for "лодырь":

It's very strange. I've just added some sentences in Spanish with the words "okapi" and "okapis". The ones containing "okapi" show up when searched ( https://tatoeba.org/eng/sentenc...rom=spa&to=und ) but the one containing "okapis" ( Sentence #7848671 ) doesn't :(

[EDIT]
Ooops! Now it does! but it didn't show up before I posted this. It didn't show up for at least 10 minutes...

Okapis just read your message :)

:D :D :D #7848729 и #7848731 ;) ;) ;)

(they don't show up, by the way... at least not yet! :D)

[EDIT]

But now they do! Honestly! It must be true that the okapis read them! :D :D :D *clap*

[EDIT II]

Большое спасибо за переводы! *clap* *clap* *clap*

The latest "okapi" and "okapis" sentences in Spanish that yesterday were searchable have now vanished and cannot be found via regular searches ( https://tatoeba.org/eng/sentenc...rom=spa&to=und https://tatoeba.org/eng/sentenc...rom=spa&to=und ) only old "okapi" sentences can be found. :(

Are we running down to worse or is somebody tinkering in the system to see how to fix it?

[EDIT I]
Furthermore, yesterday I created some sentences with "espaguetis" and "aguacero" to see if those words disappeared from the bottom of this list: https://tatoeba.org/eng/vocabul...es/spa?page=33 At the beginning they didn't but some minutes later they did AND the last page of the needed Spanish words list wasn't 33 any longer but 27! Now it's back to the previous state, though :(

[EDIT II]
As a control, I have just created two sentences in Spanish with "tropel" which, after one or two minutes became searchable: https://tatoeba.org/eng/sentenc...el%22&from=spa Let's see if they'll keep on being searchable tomorrow.
Also, I added 3 more sentences (there were previously two) containing "alienígena". After 5 minutes or so they became searchable: https://tatoeba.org/eng/sentenc...na%22&from=spa .

Dear Seael,

Gracias for reporting the problem to us. I am touched by all the research you did to help us identifying the problem. Thank you.

I think I solved the problem now. If it happens again, please let us know.

Note that new sentences never immediately appear in search results. Under normal circumstances, new sentences are made available to search under 15 minutes (but this may change in the future). However you may have to wait a bit longer when the server is too busy, or when we are working on something related to search.

Modifications of metadata (like translations, ownership, tags, audio, etc.) of already searchable sentences are instantly taken into account by the search.

That's great news! Thanks so much for all your efforts on solving the issue! And for the info, too!

It was something which kept nagging me because I felt as if the site was sort of impaired so now I'm relieved from that feeling! :)

Kind regards!
