ケーキ屋さんはお店のことですが、おいしいのはケーキ屋さんではなくてケーキです。
I'm finding it really difficult to translate the おいしい part without splitting the translation into two sentences.
Maybe it's because I'm translating the らしい as first-hand information, i.e 'I saw them operating (but didn't go in)'
I think I'll just ignore the word. It's not like someone'd open a ケーキ屋 that only sells bad-tasting cake.
It's not first-hand information. Someone bought some cake there, found it great and told you about it.
I was thinking more along the lines of "I saw them operating and then a friend told she'd visited the place (who also told me that the cakes are good)"
そんな可能性もあるかな…
Nevertheless, I can't fit the おいしい naturally there even if I try a couple of more meanings/phrasings.
