UPDATE to my Userscript:
*** Tatoeba Random Languages ***
http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/104964
Comes now with filters!!!
You have to match a regexp to this scheme:
id [tab] lang [tab] text [tab] username [tab]

E.g. this "/eng\t[^\t]*\t[^\t]*jakov/gi" (without the "s) will match english sentences by jakov (that's me).

Have fun playing around, you're welcome to ask for patterns! If you want to play arround, here's a reference for RegExp http://www.regular-expressions.info/reference.html

jakov

jakov jakov 2012-januaro-05 2012-januaro-05 23:15:06 UTC link Konstanta ligilo

Please try this filter for example:

/eng\t[^\t]*Tom[^\t]*\tjakov/gi

This would only filter sentences that contain the word Tom (upper or lower case thanks to the "i" at the end) that are flagged "eng" and by the user "jakov". I don't know if such sentences exist, but it shows how to apply the filters.

This filter here would filter EVERY sentence (for demonstration purpose):

/[^\t]*\t[^\t]*\t[^\t]*/gi

Please download the NEW JUST UPDATED VERSION and try to download it again if it doesnt work!

Greetings!

ĵ'ai ré-essayé et j'ai ré-installé, mais les filtres ne marchent toujours pas (sous Chrome...). le reste des fonctionnalités fonctionne.

I've tested it in Chrome on WinXP. Works for me, but of course not without "setup" set your languages and at least one filter, and please try once again for me. I don't know where i should look for bugs. You could also try CTRL+SHIFT+J to open the Javascript console and tell me what it tells you. Do you have the other scripts running?

J'ai réinstallé: les filtres détectent les phrases à filtrer (un petit compteur rouge est indiqué sur les boutons) mais ne filtre pas...

@sacredceltic, can you describe what you see?
I'll show you my settings:

And this is what you see in the sentences:
http://postimage.org/image/eb9fyb5bv/

As you can see, we have a French sentence and an English flag... it means that the NEXT, PREVIOUS or RANDOM sentence will be in English.

I have no problems with language settings, but with the filters, as described by jakov.
You have no filters, that's why all your 3 bottons NEXT, PREVIOUS or RANDOM have a red counter.

I filtered "Tom" sentences with the filter pattern : /eng\t[^\t]*Tom[^\t]*\t*/gi

When such a "Tom" sentence is upcoming on one of the 3 buttons, it puts a red counter on the buttons, but it doesn't PREVENT the Tom sentence to come, as it should...

Is something wrong with the PM system?

I sent messages about two hours ago (did verify that they were sent - read them afterwards in my inbox), but now, when checking on them, I don't see them (so I don't really know if the addressees got them).

I tried posting the messages anew, but once again it's as if I sent nothing. I don't see those newly sent messages.

Oh, I just now read that another person has the same problem. So, if anyone expects any messages from me - I did send them several times, but it seems that the messaging system is down.

I sugest Change the textbox behaviour. When text is modified de textbox don't desapear if Ok o Cancel button isn't pressed.

Merci beacoup :)

For this unfortunately we're using an external plugin to provide this behavior , by the past I've tried to modify this behavior but the code is a little bit complex (and spaghetti-like)

I just stumbled upon this English learning website http://www.voanews.com/learningenglish/home/ which contains a lot of recorded audio for learning purposes. They're all free and even seem to be in public domain. However I don't know if they could (or even should) be incorporated into Tatoeba!

CK also just sent me a message pointing to the userprofile http://tatoeba.org/epo/user/profile/Source_VOA

I found it especially nice to have spoken word there, like here http://www.voanews.com/learning...136622828.html But I'm not sure whether the mp3-files are also in Public Domain. Of course this would only work on sentences that could be used as they are in the texts.

Voice of America was created directly by the US government, and I'm pretty sure that anything that the US government makes is automatically in the public domain. (Of course, "anything" not including stuff like secret solarbonite bomb plans)

Hi!
We appreciate new contributors to the Corpus,
if you want to know how to make a good contribution, there's a useful and brief guide here
http://blog.tatoeba.org/2010/02...n-tatoeba.html
but the most relevant is probably just have the will to answer other users' feedback and have them in consideration.
I hope you enjoy your time in Tatoeba
Welcome!

It's also useful that you add some information about yourself in your profile, so we can know who you are, and what languages you can translate to and from.

Welcome to Tatoeba. Seems you are a native speaker of English,
but as marcelostockle said, it would help if you could add
some information about any other language skills you might have.

The Server was done this last hour due to some change in the configuration of the server I've made.

Now the server should be more stable and a little faster (actually some bots were scanning the website regardless of the robot.txt and well other technical stuff)

Sorry for the down time of these days.
