
I don't think this sentence works, unlike the other one you wrote, which is correct: "What would you like to be when you grow up?" However, if you changed it to "What do you want to be when you grow up?", it would be fine. The first verb refers to the current frame of mind of the person you're talking to. They can't like something now that will only happen in the future. However, they can already want it.
