Well, if that *is* a point of concern (I'm not sure it is, personally), then you should be able to easily write a script that compares sentences sans punctuation and looks for duplicates.

Also, although in English, we can emphasize a lot of sentences by just adding an exclamation mark, in other languages, other words in the sentence might need to be tweaked to match the tone required for the exclamation. For example, the Hindi sentence given as a translation of the English one would become "मैंने गाड़ी को कल ही ठीक किया था।" (taking out the "तो") if the exclamation mark is taken out of the English one. So, this is one case in point where a sentence with or without a punctuation mark might be two completely different sentences in certain translations.
