A 'comma splice error' is what you call it when two phrases that can stand as separate sentences are instead linked with a comma.

e.g. "Fred loves parties, he never misses one."

In practice it is probably one of the less observed grammar rules, but a lot of people still find them very annoying. In this case one way to 'fix' it is to change the comma in the middle to a semicolon.

Most developers hate debugging; it's more fun to create bugs than to correct them.
