Are you sure this is a correct translation of the phrase?
There is a huge difference between:
1) "I’m guessing you didn’t buy this yourself." means that we don't think you personally went to the shop and bought it.
2) "I’m guessing you didn’t buy this for yourself." means that we don't think that they bought it for themselves, but we suspect for someone else.
As far as I can see, the original means "for yourself".
