I had seen: mi toki ijo = I'm thinking about something (jan Pije) [?]

That's true. If you want to follow Pije's style, it would be "mi toki pi soweli wawa". I use "mi toki e ijo pi soweli wawa" - "I communicate something of/about strong animals". I would also use "toki pi soweli wawa" for "speech/message of/about strong animals", because "toki" as a noun can be both "speech" (and "language") as well as what you have communicated, i.e. the message. Converting this noun phrase back to a verb makes "mi toki pi soweli wawa" sound like "I am a message about strong animals". Justifying this as "I am talking about strong animals" only works for me if "mi toki" means "I use speech on"/"I give a message (about strong animals) to", omitting the receiver.
That receiver would have to be added as a direct object: "mi toki pi soweli wawa e sina" - "I use a speech about strong animals on you".
