iactare = werfen. Unverküzt sollte es "Der Würfel ist geworfen worden" heißen.

{Wikipedia: Der lateinische Ausdruck "Alea iacta est" beschreibt die Situation NACH einem Ereignis / einer Handlung, wenn der Ausgang feststeht, aber noch nicht bekannt ist (der Würfel ist in der Luft, das Ergebnis kann nicht mehr beeinflusst werden).}

Im deutschen Sprachraum ist allerdings die weniger korrekte Übersetzung mit "gefallen" die verbreitetere >> #369492 /
