Erläuterung:

Mett ist gewürztes Schweinehackfleisch, das in Deutschland traditionell als roher Brotaufstrich Verwendung findet. Oft werden rohe Zwiebeln beigegeben.

Ein „Mettigel“ ist Bestandteil eines „kalten Büffets“ auf Feiern, Gesellschaften etc. Es handelt sich um eine große Portion Metts, das in die dekorative Form eines Igels gebracht wurde. Die Stacheln bestehen aus Zwiebelstücken, Augen und Nase aus Oliven oder ähnlichem. Brot, Brötchen und andere Teigwaren werden in der Nähe aufgetafelt.
