Do you really enter a door or enter (a room) through a door?

AlanF_US AlanF_US December 14, 2013 December 14, 2013 at 4:46:57 PM UTC link Permalink

Annotation: "the door" can refer to either an opening into a room, or the thing that closes the opening. Thus, the sentence could mean that she walked through a rectangular block of wood. However, this interpretation would likely only be valid in a cartoon (in which case the hole she left would have exactly the same outline as her body).
