we already had a long discussion, probably not on this particular sentence, but on others, very similar. We arrived at the conclusion that it, and similar phrases, can be considered sentences.

The reason is it's a manner of speech, a very common expression, etc. Since then we have had quite a few similar phrases, which are not sentences per se.

The discussion, or should I say discussions, were also brought to TRANG's attention (and received her blessing).

Many of them related to expressions in Esperanto, which were not whole sentences, but had to be kept in Tatoeba.

I didn't initiate those discussions (as I was then of the same opinion expressed by you, an hour ago, on the current sentence), but as the opinion of those who took part in those discussions was accepted, many sentences that were not accepted up till then became a legitimate part of the corpus.

If you believe this sentence needs to be deleted, please delete it. However, please make sure that all the language variants in the current thread also appear in the other, already existing thread.

As to the need to complete the sentence with a word or expression, I already explained above that it was decided, or rather agreed, by many Tatoeba users (TRANG included, but I don't have the discussions at hand) that the Tatoeba corpus can also present expressions in various languages even if they are not full/complete sentences.
