Comments are perfectly exportable. Tatoeba works with most computer mice to enable an innovative "highlighting" feature in which you can hold the left mouse button to drag across the words you want to export. Then, if you have a right mouse button, you can right-click it to open up a hella tight new menu that Sysko just rolled out, which includes a bold new Copy™ feature you can click on to insert the entire comment into a specially allocated spot in your computer's memory. Tatoeba's patented Copy™-based export function is specifically designed for plug-and-play compatibility with the cutting-edge pasting capabilities of modern text editors and database programs. This Copy™-paste paradigm offers significant improvement in natural language processing efficiency over the older method of printing comments individually, holding the printouts up to the monitor, closing one's eyes, and making a wish.

Pompous prescriptivist pedants need not quote me.

I don't know about other languages, but in formal written English, numbers one through nine are written out, but 10 and over are written as Arabic numerals.

Rough IPA: /tato.eba/

I've changed some of the language a bit to make it more neutral. I have to admit it's a little hard to find secondary sources because we've only just started getting recognized out in the Interbutts.

...which we have in spades now.

...and it's now about to be deleted for lack of secondary sources.

Gentlemen!
Behold!

Will we add creoles as their own distinct languages or as specially tagged sentences within their own standard languages?

[esp] Sysko ha subido los audios de BraveSentry, 1300 frases en alemán

#266486, "She doesn't drink enough breast milk," has just been untagged as "not for safe search." This raises a question: might we need a strict safe search, or shall we assume our readership is familiar and comfortable with the prime objective of boobs?
#notforsafesearch

A couple more things to say about future sign language support:
1. Livemocha uses a Flash interface to record audio submissions. Would a Flash interface to record video submissions violate a free software license or anything? If so, would prospective contributors submit video clips to Sysko the way we submit audio files to him now?
2. I don't know about other sign languages, but American Sign Language sometimes has much shorter sentences than equivalents in other languages. People concerned with the completeness of sentences on Tatoeba will want to keep this in mind.
3. We'll probably want to write a tutorial for video submissions once we beta-test and perfect the system.

We've hit 4000 members!
¡Ahora hay 4000 miembros!
今は、 メンバーが 4000人いますよ!

...which would probably encourage ridiculous amounts of necroposting.

Four more sentences and we can make dinosaur an official Tatoeba language.

A good idea would be to make the wall searchable so we can try to find answers to questions before we ask them here.

For users who are not yet logged in or registered, does the Tatoeba GUI change language based on the client's IP address?

Now that we have a bunch of translations for that sentence, we ought to have it appear in each user's chosen GUI language.

More IRC conversation generated another idea: a MegaHAL-based chatbot for the #tatoeba or a separate IRC channel, fed the entire Tatoeba corpus language by language, perhaps on a weekly or monthly basis. Something that can generate silly sentences for our amusement, inspiration, or even material to add to Tatoeba. It's also a technical thing that Sysko would have to do because Sysko does half of everything.

I mean this instead of having tags being stuck in English.
