** Tatoeba Day #7 **
Tatoeba Day starts now! And as usual will end in 24 hours.
If you don't know what Tatoeba Day is about, you can find information about it here:
http://en.wiki.tatoeba.org/arti...ow/tatoeba-day
For those who are familiar with Tatoeba Day, note that there is a new section in the article that explains the rules for making requests:
http://en.wiki.tatoeba.org/arti...about-requests
In short: it's the same rules as before, except that only bugs or requests that are labeled "status:accepted" will be considered for implementation for this Tatoeba Day.
You can check what will be included in the next update on this page:
https://github.com/Tatoeba/tato...nes/2015-09-14
For now it's empty, but it will be filled up as requests are made.
Happy Tatoeba Day!
First request: https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/334
This would be very useful for users who want to add different translations to a single sentence, especially those who use tablets or smartphones
From my research during the other Tatoeba Day, this feature is going to be difficult to implement, if we want to make it work for everyone.
Gillux mentioned that an HTML5 solution would not work for most mobile users.
And the ZeroClipboard library (http://zeroclipboard.org/) is Flash based, therefore won't work on iPhones and iPads.
If somebody has time to experiment with copy-paste and come up with a demo that would work (almost) everywhere, then I'll be glad to reuse the solution in Tatoeba.
Meanwhile, I prefer to leave this feature on standby because it's not very high priority.
Ok, then I'm changing it with these two issues, which are stricly related:
https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/301
https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/757
In brief, the auto-completion of tags doesn't show new tags, and removed tags still appear there
The problem with new tags not showing up should be fixed.
The problem with removed tags still showing up is not something I can easily fix. It requires to implement an extra feature in the tool that we use for the autocompletion.

I see. Anyways, thanks for the fix :)
Second request: https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/213
This should be fixed now.
Thanks

These issues may be solved now.
https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/758
https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/745
https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/753
I have updated the dev website so it can be tested.
I will need people with iPhones to test the favorite and adopt features in particular.

This is another matter, which wasn't part of the things I've tried fixed. The issues I tried to solve were the ones where the features would not work on iPhones and some browser on Android.
> After adding a sentence, the text input "box" is not cleared
The input should be cleared. This was due to the recent changes. I'll fix it.
First request: https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/674
That's done. You can test it on the dev website. It was a bit more difficult to implement than I expected.
I changed the title of the request to "Add tags without reloading the page". What it does now is that when you add a tag, a loader shows up. And you can add a new tag while the previous one is still loading.
Thank you a lot, Trang!!!
2nd request: https://github.com/Tatoeba/tatoeba2/issues/92
Title: Email notification when receiving private message
I just noticed pinyin letters with hačeks are displayed in a different font: http://tatoeba.org/jpn/sentences/show/334142
The way some characters are displayed will depend on what fonts are installed in your system and how your browser is configured.
I'm not sure how you see it, but this is how I see it:

Overall, when it comes to font inconsistencies, there isn't a whole lot that Tatoeba could do that would make things look good for everyone...
je vois. alors, c'est la faute de ce vieil laptop que j'ai obtenu de ma soeur. compris, merci.

Except using web fonts.

Perhaps not for all visitors, but it could be one of the experimental functions we can choose on the settings page.
Tatoeba Day is now over.
You can check what will be included in the next Tatoeba update on this page:

Next Tatoeba Day is scheduled on September 26.
Thank you for your participation!
Quick notice: the next Tatoeba Day is delayed to September 27. It will take place on Sunday instead of Saturday.
