@CK

Does this mean that you have some money to spend but not an awful lot, or does it mean that you can hardly afford to spend any money because it's scarce?

Have I made myself clear?

a little money = some money

from http://www.thefreedictionary.com/a+little :
[So, for example, if you say 'I have a little money', you are saying that you have some money. However, if you say 'I have little money', you mean that you do not have enough money]

@danepo
Thanks. I suspected that. So the German sentence is wrongly connected. And the Dutch and Italian sentences need to be looked at as well.

Perhaps a native could add: "I have little money this month."
I think it could be linked to some of the wrong translations of this sentence,
e.g. the German: Diesen Monat bin ich knapp bei Kasse.

@CK
The sentence is "I have A little money", which according to "the grammar books" would mean - see danepo's first comment - that you have indeed some money to spend, just not an awful lot.

Is danepo right and how do you feel about "I have a little money", i.e. which I can spend?

Thanks. This means the German sentence and probably the Dutch and Italian sentences need to be unlinked.

You can compare "a little money" with just "little money" in several examples.

I have unlinked "Este mes estoy escaso de dinero".
