I could translate this sentence, but it makes no sense, because an electric current *always* generates magnetism.

I agree. But it's difficult to change all of them at once. But it is possible if you contact everybody and they answer fast. But the japanese one has no owner. Maybe discussing this in the IRC would be faster.

Sentences in Tatoeba do not necessarily reflect the reality you are living in :P
If you stick around you'll find out we have sentences that make far much less sense. But as long as they have a meaning, we'll keep them :)

Anyway, like braulio said, it's a bit difficult to change them all. If you don't want to translate this sentence, you can always add a new sentence that says "An electric current always generates magnetism", and translate that one.
